HOGAR DE LA AMISTAd
CREATING A SUSTAINABLE SOURCE OF INCOME FOR A SHELTER

Hogar de la Amistad is a Shelter  for indigenous peoples seeking medical care in Cusco city. It provides care for post-hospitalized patients, shelter for patients' families and after-school programs for kids k-12

When I was a fourteen I created an additional source of income for this shelter, this was my first solution oriented project

Role: creator and organizer of a craft-based program to aid the financial gap in the institution

Italian Branch

This project was one of the most influential experiences to date. It taught me to seek resources, make allies, and better utilize my skills. It was the first time I could see my little design knowledge as a resource with the potential to address a real problem affecting my community.

The project I started continued beyond my departure from the shelter.
